    Automation Engineer

    Groningen / Hybrid · 24-40 hrs · [SALARIS-RANGE] gross p/m at 40 hrs · Permanent contract

If you want to make an automation, can you make something for this?

That's the sentence this role is built around. We look for someone who doesn't master the full stack yet, but does get the idea: two systems talk through an API, a trigger kicks off a flow, and at the end there's less manual work. Get it? Let's talk.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

Build systems that run in production.

You work on automations for our clients. Operations of e-commerce scale-ups that want manual work gone. Concretely: a product translation that runs itself, a customer service layer that replies in four languages, an order process that takes the next step on its own.

You build mostly in Make.com (our workhorse) and write your own functions in TypeScript or JavaScript when Make can't handle it. You connect APIs, think about error handling, and make sure what you deliver still runs in six months without anyone needing to fix it.

You work alongside our senior engineers. Not alone, but with your own responsibility. What you deliver goes live with real clients. No sandbox projects, no "learn first for a year" tracks.

    WHAT WE EXPECT

    Not everything, but these.

    You get the basics.

You've tinkered with automations: Make, n8n, Zapier, whatever. You know what a webhook does, roughly what OAuth is, and what an API response looks like. You don't need to be an expert. You do need to be able to reason about how data moves from A to B.

    Code isn't a wall.

TypeScript or JavaScript aren't entirely new to you. You can write a function, read someone else's script, and with some help from Cursor or Claude build your own module. No CS degree required. Just the ability to handle code without panic.

You work the way we work.

Independent, sharp, not afraid to say "this won't work" when it won't. You document what you build so we still get it a year later. You ask for explanation when something is unclear, instead of digging for six hours yourself.

    BONUS POINTS IF...

    ...but definitely not a must.

...you've worked with the OpenAI or Anthropic API. If you know what function calling does. If you've set up a Supabase database once. If you've deployed a Cloudflare Worker. If you've built a React dashboard for yourself or a small project.

None of this is required. It's just work we do, and if you already know some of it we get going faster. If not, you'll learn it here.

    WHAT WE OFFER

No friday drinks, just real things.

    1. Salary that fits junior tech work.

[SALARIS-RANGE] gross per month at 40 hrs, depending on what you bring. No secrecy: we tell you in the conversation what we offer.

    2. Hybrid working.

Office in Groningen (Duinkerkenstraat 40) is there for whoever wants to use it. You're free to work from home. No "minimum 2 days in office" rule.

    3. 24 to 40 hours.

Whatever fits your situation. Prefer 4 days? Fine. Full-time? Also fine. We build the contract around you, not the other way around.

    4. A team that takes you seriously.

We come from entrepreneurship (we built two e-commerce companies to €25M). We're not looking for a "junior to cultivate". We look for someone who joins in and grows while the work gets done.

    WHAT YOU'LL BUILD HERE

    Real projects, not learning environments.

On you can read about the operations we've built. A few examples of the kind of work you'll touch:

    ETQ Amsterdam.

A translation engine that takes product content from English to 8 other languages, pushes it to Shopify automatically, and gets sharper every month. You contribute to systems like this. Not as observer, but as builder.

    Eden Luca Yachts.

An AI concierge that handles customer questions across four channels (WhatsApp, SMS, email, chat) in four languages. An agent with 10 tools that completes the full booking flow. This is what you'll learn to build.

    What comes next.

We have more clients in the pipeline. Returns analysis, inventory signals, customer service layers for other e-commerce brands. You'll work on systems that run for real clients from day one.

    HOW IT WORKS

    No application marathon.

    Step 1. Send us something.

No CV needed. Do: a short description of an automation you once built or tinkered with. One paragraph is enough. A Make flow, a script, a Zapier zap, something from school or a hobby project. What makes you proud or what you learned from.

    Step 2. Short intro call.

If what you sent fits, we book a 30-minute call. No STAR method, no trick questions. Just getting to know each other and seeing if it fits.

Step 3. We build something together.

In step 3 we build a small automation together in Make or code. Not to test if you can do it under pressure. To see how you work and whether we click. After that we know enough.

    Ready to build something?

Send us in one message: an automation you've built, plus your name and email. One paragraph is enough.

Salary indication: [SALARIS-RANGE] gross p/m at 40 hrs.

We reply within 3 business days.
